Works will be undertaken under a road closure with diversion in place.

Enforcement action may be taken for any vehicles parked within the resurfacing areas during the working shifts when a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order is in effect for closure of the street.

Killingworth Road / Salters’ Lane and Salters Bridge.

Killingworth Road – from its junction with Back Gallalaw Terrace (north) in a northerly direction for its entire length within Newcastle City Boundary.
Salters Bridge (Hollywood Avenue) – for its entire length.
Killingworth Road - The reason for the closure is to ensure that health and safety is maintained whilst bridge replacement and road widening works are carried out.

Salters Bridge – The restriction is required to mitigate against rat running and to improve traffic flows including public transport provision along the Great North Road corridor.

The closures on Back St James Street, Leazes Terrace, Strawberry Place (between Barrack Road and St James’ Street) and Strawberry Lane at is junction with Strawberry Place will be in place approximately 1 hour before kick-off until approximately 30 minutes after the final whistle.

The closures on all the other roads will be in place approximately 1 hour after kick-off until approximately 30 minutes after the final whistle.

Tyne Bridge and CME Major Maintenance Works

Tyne Bridge works will begin with the A167 reduced to one lane in both directions and the east footway closed. The Traffic Management will vary throughout the works and there will be overnight closures. Please plan ahead for your journey and use alternative routes where possible.
