Meet Jasper Fforde when he visits City library to talk about his new novel. Shades of Grey is set in a world where social order and destiny are dictated by the colours you can see. This is the first new book from Jasper for 2 ½ years but fans will not be disappointed.
In Eddie’s world technology is poor, news sporadic, change abhorrent, and the night time terrifying (no one can see in the dark). In Eddie’s world everyone lives by the Rulebook; a system of merits and demerits, a system which threatens permanent expulsion.
Eddie never questions his rose-tinted life – he never questions the Rulebook – until he falls in love with Jane, a Grey who opens his eyes to the true nature of the Colourtocracy.
